Our model normally wears a child's size 8-10 top (8 for width and 10 for length). She is nearly 9 years old and is wearing the M in this photo. Our size guide is exactly that - a guide, based on our model and her friends. Obviously if you child is say a tall 6 year old, you might want to go up to a medium for the length.
